Bedford College, supported by local business CGI Creative Graphics International (CGI), is delighted to announce the winner of this years Design Challenge as Curtis Reeve.
As the winner, Curtis will be joining the award-winning CGI design studio for two weeks in the summer. Both Curtis and runner-up, Alberto Speziali, were presented with creative drawing tablets to help showcase their skills, as they kick-start their future careers.
CGI is a global branding innovator providing design, production and installation services to the automotive, aerospace, leisure and retail industries. CGI support’s clients across five continents and 26 countries with manufacturing operations in the United Kingdom and South Africa. CGI’s specialisms cover Graphics (Digital & Screen print), Badging Technologies and Functional Films amongst other Branding solutions. In 2015 CGI acquired specialist vehicle livery business, Sign Language, making the ‘That’s a wrap!’ brief pertinent to this year’s Design Challenge.
Adam Jenkins, Design Manager for CGI, joined former Bedford College student, Tiffany Trethowan for the presentation. Tiffany, a graduate from the same course as Curtis and Alberto, and employed by CGI straight from the college, is now Marketing Executive at their offices in Kempston.
Tiffany commented on the project “We are delighted to have a partnered with the college for another year and to be part of a project generating fresh talent. The brief this year was particularly important to us, as it represented our long-standing position in the industry and the ability to showcase our vehicle livery business. As a graduate from the course, industry experience is extremely valuable.”
Advanced Practitioner in Graphic Design at the College, Jeffrey Tribe, commented on the project “This is the third year CGI have generously shared their time and expertise with our students. To have access to such a professional organisation provides exceptional learning opportunities for our students and really does make a difference”.
